Canadian Blood Services

Kin Canada is a National Partner for Life with Canadian Blood Services (CBS), the not-for-profit that ensures Canadian patients have reliable access to the safe, high-quality blood and blood products, stem cells, and organs and tissues they need.

According to CBS, only 4% of Canadians donate blood, yet up to half of us will either need it or know someone who will need it their lifetime.

From heart surgery that can require up to 5 donors to car accident victims who may need 50, donating blood is truly a gift of life. Consider joining us in our efforts to meet this vital need.

Clubs can help address and advocate the need for blood donors through awareness initiativesdonating blood, setting up group appointments to donate together and also through adopting clinics.

Our Pledge

Link your CBS account to Kin Canada

Help reach your District’s goal by linking your donations to Kin Canada- it’s easy to do! Donations that are not linked to your District will not count toward the pledge.

Step 1 - Download the “GiveBlood” app or go to www.blood.ca  and set up a new account OR use your regular sign in (if you have an existing account)

Step 2 –
WEBSITE - In the menu select “Partners” or choose the “join/manage organizations” tile
GIVEBLOOD APP - choose “Partners” bottom right or in the menu

Step 3 - Type in Kin Canada, then choose your District from the drop-down menu and select JOIN THE TEAM

Once you are registered with a team, all donations will be counted towards your District team. You can even see your team’s goal and progress:

Encourage your friends and family to link their accounts too to help reach the goal faster!

Kin-CBS Reporting Period

Please note that, as of 2021-2022, the reporting period for blood donations will be July to June instead of January to December to better align with the Kin year (rather than the calendar year).
